About A&A Farms

Church Building Church Building In 1979, on a small plot of land located in Chester, South Carolina, Lawrence and Mae Hopkins set off to fulfill their dream of raising cattle as a hobby. They started out with one bull, a few Hereford cows, and a tin barn Lawrence used to store square bales of hay. As the years went on, the cattle grew in size. Lawrence and Mae also grew in age. In 2009, their son Darrian, now operator of A&A Farms, took over the land and the animals, and continued to care for them in the same way his parents had done for many years.

A&A Farms was born out of Lawrence and Mae's dream, and Darrian's desire to continue their legacy. Since taking over, Darrian has continued to raise cattle on the same land and is responsible for all the animals. Alexandra Mae (Alex), Darrian's youngest daughter, has shown a real interest in the farm and cattle and often accompanies him to drop mineral, feed, and hay. The legacy continues!

At A&A Farms, our mission is to produce quality cattle, while maintaining the highest farming standards. All of the cows are free-ranging, grass-fed, and grass-finished. As our farm continues to grow, our pledge is to continue to produce quality beef calves, using farming practices that are sustainable and environmentally responsible.
